Artist's Description
Horseshoe crabs can be found in the United States from Maine to Florida. Adult horseshoe crabs are usually found offshore, but they mate on sandy beaches where the females deposit eggs.
Horseshoe crabs are declining in number throughout their range due to a variety of factors, including overharvesting for the bait industry and loss of reproductive habitat. Seawalls and other types of shoreline development can disrupt the horseshoe crab's reproductive activities.
About Bob Slitzan
From a very young age, I was always interested in photography. I graduated from the NY Institute of Photography in 1968. Many of my photos have been shown in venues throughout New York and Key West, Florida. My photography is eclectic, but I love shooting birds[sic], landscapes and all nature. My art is now available on T-Shirts and other types of clothing, plus the always popular canvas and many other types of prints including acrylic, metal, and of course framed with hundreds of frames, colors, matting and sizes to choose from. Also available are printed specialty products such as greeting cards, cell phone cases, throw pillows, tote bags, duvet covers and more. I am now semi-retired working on my photography in Prattville, Alabama....
